GCS Hosted Golf Tournament

GREENWOOD, SC – Greenwood Christian School hosted 52 golfers at its Annual Golf Tournament played on Friday, Oct. 28, at Hunters Creek Country Club.

The 1st place Gross Team was Ted Hinzman, Brad Hinzman, Patrick Wilson and Ben Hjalmer. They shot a 17 under par round of 55. The 2nd place Gross Team was Chris Cabri, Hugh Camp, Travis Blayton and Tom Taylor. They shot a 16 under par round of 56.

The 1st place Net Team was Tim McClain, David Sellers, Jay Koon and David Batson. Their team score was 47. The 2nd place Net Team was Bobby Strother, Phil Vickery, Weldon Humphries and Ronny Culbreth. Their team score was 50.

Closest to the Pin winners was Bobby Strother, Ted Hinzman, Michael Benjamin and Chris Cabri. The Longest Drive winner was Jay Koon.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Greenwood Christian School through tuition scholarships based on financial need, classroom technology upgrades, enhancing fine art programs and continuing education for teachers. GCS is an accredited member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA). The school was established in 1992 and serves families from Abbeville, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick and Saluda counties with a current enrollment of more than 300 students in K4 to 12th grade.
