We Appreciate Pastors

GCS hosted a breakfast for pastors of GCS families and employees to celebrate their role in supporting the school’s mission. Elementary students provided musical entertainment and everyone enjoyed good food and fellowship.

Christmas came early for the 4th and 5th grade classes at GCS in the form of technology. Both Mrs. Weathers and Mrs. Wade’s homerooms received an IPAD to enhance programs with their Smart Boards. This purchases were made possible by a generous contribution from Jill McGee and her family.

Members of the Middle School Student Council load up boxes and bags of non-perishable items to deliver to a local food bank. The students coordinated a school wide canned food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Greenwood County. According to Mrs. Zana Evans, MS Student Council faculty advisor, 1,376 non perishable items were collected from GCS students and families. To increase participation among the students, the collection was also a competition between grades. Mrs. Goforth's K5 class brought in the most with almost 350 items. Mrs. Taylor's 7th grade class had the most in Middle School with 163 cans and the high school winner was the 9th grade class with 147 items.
