Canned Food Drive by amcallister Members of the Middle School Student Council load up boxes and bags of non-perishable items to deliver to a local food bank. The students coordinated a school wide canned food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Greenwood County. According to Mrs. Zana Evans, MS Student Council faculty advisor, 1,376 non perishable items were collected from GCS students and families. To increase participation among the students, the collection was also a competition between grades. Mrs. Goforth’s K5 class brought in the most with almost 350 items. Mrs. Taylor’s 7th grade class had the most in Middle School with 163 cans and the high school winner was the 9th grade class with 147 items.
